The short version: Shax is free to play for your personal enjoyment. Play fair, don't try to copy or break the app, and understand it is provided as-is. The game is an original GeesTech work.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using the Shax mobile app or this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

2. Your licence to use Shax

GeesTech grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Shax on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment. This licence does not transfer any ownership.

3. What you may not do

Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app or its content;
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits;
Tamper with, automate, or exploit the game or the optional leaderboard (including submitting fake scores or abusive nicknames);
Use the app in any unlawful way or to infringe anyone's rights.

4. Intellectual property

Shax (the game of the sand) is a traditional Somali game in the public domain. This implementation — its code, artwork, sounds, rules text, tutorial, Somali and English writing, name, and branding — is the original, proprietary work of GeesTech and is protected by copyright. "Shax" as used here refers to this app by GeesTech Classics.

5. The optional leaderboard

Joining the global leaderboard is entirely optional and opt-in. If you join, you choose a public nickname that other players can see. You must not submit names that are offensive, impersonate others, or violate any law. We may remove any entry, nickname, or score at our discretion, and may reset or withdraw the leaderboard at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what data is sent.

6. Availability & changes

Shax is provided free of charge. We may update, change, or discontinue the app, the website, or any feature at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms; the "last updated" date above will change and continued use means you accept the new Terms.

7. No warranty

Shax and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GeesTech will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Shax. Because the app is free and stores your data only on your device, you are responsible for your own device and any backups.
